Is this legal advice?
No. We are not a trademark representative. We do the groundwork — the conflict search, the class selection and the prepared application — and provide general information with the source included. If an opposition arises or a refusal is issued, you transfer the file to a trademark representative; we assist you with that.
My name is already registered at the Chamber of Commerce — isn't that enough?
No. That is a trade name, and it only protects against confusion in the same region and the same sector. A trademark gives you the right to prohibit others from using it, throughout the Benelux or the entire EU. The Chamber of Commerce also does not check whether your name already exists as a trademark: you can be properly registered and still infringe a right.
Is the content written by AI?
The knowledge base is: based on the sources of the offices, with a technical check afterwards and human approval before publication. That is also stated under each article. The conflict search itself does not work with a language model but with a fixed calculation, so the same name will give the same result tomorrow.
What does it cost and what do I get for free?
The trademark check and the entire knowledge base are free, without an account. If you have us prepare the registration, you pay a fixed service fee; the office fee is shown separately and goes directly to the BOIP or the EUIPO.
How do I know the information is up to date?
Under each article it states when it was last checked, with the source included. Fees change: that is why amounts with us always come with the date they were verified and with a link to the office's own fee schedule.
In which languages is the site available?
The site is available in eleven languages. A European Union trademark applies in all 27 member states, so the content is EU-wide; the service starts with the Benelux and the EUIPO.
What do you do with my data?
Record as little as possible, and what we do record you get back. Via Settings → Download all your data you export everything we have about you as a ZIP file with one click. You can also delete it yourself. See the privacy statement for the details.
